Rethinking Economics International members are invited to a conversation with Devika Dutt.

Devika  is a Lecturer in Development Economics at King’s College, London. Her research is focused on the international monetary system, institutions of global governance, the political economy of development policy, macroeconomic policy in developing economies, and decolonizing economics. Her latest book, Decolonizing Economics: An Introduction (with Carolina Alves, Surbhi Kesar, and Ingrid Harvold Kvangraven) highlights the Eurocentric foundations that shape how economists study the world today, that have rendered it ill-equipped to tackle fundamental economic questions, what decolonizing it would entail and how to approach it.

During the session, we will discuss the state of the economics, what it means to decolonise the discipline and what a better future could look like.

Ultimately though, this will be a discussion shaped by you! If you have a question you would like to bring to the discussion, please add it to the sign-up form!
