Helping creators speak more clearly, confidently and compellingly about the economy

Applications now closed for 2026 cohort. Applications for the 2027 cohort will open in November 2026.

Most of the stories people hear about the economy are narrow, confusing, or just plain wrong. That’s why Rethinking Economics International is launching the New Economy Influencers Collective — a free training and community programme for bold, values-driven UK creators who want to make economic issues engaging, accessible and human.

Whether you make videos about politics or pop culture, fashion or fairness, climate or community — this programme will help you say more, and say it better.

What the Programme Offers

Two immersive residentials

28–31 May and 16–19 July 2026 — Lee Valley (just outside London)
A beautiful green space to learn, connect, and create — with all travel, food and accommodation fully covered.

Three short online sessions

29 June, 28 September and 2 November 2026
Space to reflect, develop ideas, and keep the momentum going.

You’ll get access to:

  • An financial honorarium to support you to take part in the training
  • Strategic communications and narrative skills that actually drive engagement
  • Clear, simple breakdowns of key economic concepts
  • Insight into how the public currently thinks and talks about “the economy”
  • A supportive cohort of likeminded creators
  • Guidance from James Robertson, Sonal Raghuvanshi, and economics & climate creator Michael Mezzatesta

What You’ll Learn

You’ll gain the tools to confidently challenge common economic myths, such as:

  • “We can’t fund public services because the public purse is empty.”
  • “We can’t afford climate action.”
  • “If we tax the rich or big business, they’ll just leave.”
  • “Public services are crumbling because of immigration.”

You’ll leave with a clear understanding of the real economics behind these narratives — and the communication skills to offer genuine solutions that resonate with your audience.

Who We’re Looking For

Creators who are:

  • Under 35 and based in the UK
  • Posting content regularly (at least weekly)
  • 5,000+ followers on Instagram and/or TikTok
  • From working-class, low-waged or self-employed backgrounds
  • Available for both residentials in May and July
  • Open to learning and aligned with Rethinking Economics’ values

We particularly welcome applications from people whose identities and experiences are under-represented in the creator space.

How to Apply
