Desajuste – Brazilian Network of Progressive Economists

Our group organises and mobilises economics students and recent graduates for the sustainable development of Brazil. We want economics, as a science and as a practice, to be an instrument for overcoming inequalities in our country. We segment our work into three main areas. Through university integration, we mobilise university students across Brazil to create events, courses and seminars that discuss economics from a social, feminist, anti-racist and decolonial perspective. Through advocacy, we recognise that our work is not limited to universities, and we participate in campaigns and projects that seek to engage with civil society and government. Through our network, we bring together more than 400 economists in Brazil and create spaces for exchange, connection, and the professional and intellectual development of our members.
