Rethinking Economics FJWU Chapter

The mission of Rethinking Economics is to transform economics education and practice by promoting pluralism, critical thinking and interdisciplinary perspectives. Rethinking Economics aims to empower students, educators and practitioners to engage critically with economic concepts and to explore alternative perspectives that better reflect the complexities of real-world economic issues. Ultimately, its mission is to foster a more pluralistic and socially responsible economics discipline that addresses the pressing challenges of our time. We held an orientation session at which we officially introduced Rethinking Economics to our students and faculty, and the initiative was greatly supported by the students and by the head of department. We organise conferences and events on themes such as Doughnut Economics.
