Rethinking Economics Kabwe Institute of Technology

The Rethinking Economics group at the Kabwe Institute of Technology (KIT) is part of a global movement aimed at diversifying and modernizing economics education.

Our mission is to challenge the narrow focus of traditional economics and promote a pluralistic approach that incorporates diverse perspectives, real-world applications, and social responsibility. We aim to equip students at KIT with the critical thinking skills necessary to address Zambia’s unique economic challenges.

Founding
The group was founded by a passionate collective of students who recognized a gap between classroom theory and the socio-economic realities of our local community. Driven by a desire for more inclusive and relevant curricula, we joined the Rethinking Economics network to connect with global ideas while fostering local change.
