Rethinking Economics Sussex

We are an interdisciplinary society at the University of Sussex, providing a space for discussions around how economic theories and policies can better reflect the twenty-first century and social and climate justice. We discuss issues such as inequality, decolonisation, behavioural economics, the rise of AI and climate change from a pluralist economic perspective. We also aim to make economics more accessible to those not studying the subject, so they can apply it to political issues and their daily lives. Everyone is welcome to provide their perspective or learn more about economic issues, regardless of the depth of their understanding of economics, because approaches to economics affect everyone through issues ranging from the cost of living to geopolitical tensions, and different disciplines provide valuable perspectives for pluralist economics. We run activities during the University of Sussex climate justice week.
