Rethinking Economics – University of Reading is a student-led group of young, enthusiastic economists from the University of Reading, bringing together undergraduate and postgraduate students studying economics and related disciplines. Our core team includes members actively involved in the University’s Economics Society, creating strong links between student engagement and critical academic inquiry. We are a diverse cohort united by a shared commitment to pluralist and heterodox economic thinking. Our group is particularly passionate about exploring how economics can better address social justice and intersectional issues, including inequality related to gender, caste, sexuality, race, labour and climate justice. We aim to create an open space for critical discussion, interdisciplinary learning and collaborative action that challenges narrow economic frameworks and centres human wellbeing.
