We want to bring a chapter of Rethinking Economics to York University because we feel York is sorely missing any sort of place where students can have pluralistic and interdisciplinary discussions on economic issues and thought, particularly as they concern global inequality and the environment. Our programmes are quite orthodox, and students in more interdisciplinary programmes such as environmental studies, gender studies and political science rarely interact with economics students, or even among themselves. We hope to run events and provide resources to bridge this gap.
